CONTENT

What resources are available for me to use in the classroom?
Teaching resources include: journal articles, notes, books, case studies, lectures, videos, teaching notes, exercises, presentation, syllabus, simulation, transcript, biography and courselets (mini-courses).

Community resources include listings of: conferences, associations, journals, program/centers, newsletters, grant-making organizations and awards.
Any of these resources can be used in the classroom, whether the instruction is face-to-face on a university campus, or long distance.

What are the different ways I can use the resources?
The teaching resources are designed for educational, nonprofit, or personal use only. They may be used in classroom instruction (face-to-face or online), in training workshops, and for research projects. The resources can be used as individual pieces of content, or several can be combined together. Here are a few examples:
  • Include links to several streaming videos directly from your course web page. Have the students watch outside of class (as a reading material) or present the video in class (this requires a DSL or T-1/LAN connection in the classroom, a computer with Windows Media Player and/or Real Player, a project screen and speakers).
  • Combine a case with several supporting videos (either streaming or downloadable)
  • Present a case and have the students use the archive to find related videos.
  • Combine several videos together to create a "virtual panel of experts."
  • Use the courselets as a self-assessment tool for the students - they complete the exercises before coming to class.
The community resources are designed to help you become more involved with peers in the entrepreneurship education environment. All of the listings that are recommended focus on one or all of the following: entrepreneurship education, high-technology entrepreneurship, and education for engineers and scientists. Use these listings to:
  • Attend a new conference such as the Babson SEE-REFLECT
  • Join an association just as the entrepreneurship division of ASEE
  • Learn about the best journals for publication
  • Research information on fundraising, grant-making organizations and opportunities
